Support for Foreign Job Seekers


Applications currently accepted for Home Helper Level 2 Course
This course is aimed at people who are currently unemployed and desire to work in the social welfare field.

Upcoming Sessions:
2nd Session: July 1, 2010 - August 31, 2010 (3,4 times per week, 22 days in total)
3rd Session : September 1, 2010 - November 26, 2010 (2,3 times a week, 22 days in total)

Class Times: 9:00-17:00

Application Period:
2nd Session: May 14, 2010 - June 15, 2010 (50 spots)
3rd Session: July 15, 2010 - August 13, 2010 (50 spots)
If there are more applicants than spots available, a lottery system will be used to choose who gets accepted.

Elgibility:
To be eligible to take this program you must meet the following requirements:
-Completed alien registration and has lived in Mie for over 6 months
-Have the desire to work in the social welfare field and signed a document declaring this fact
-Be registered with the Mie Fukushi Jinzai Center
-Be in good health
-Be less than 65 years old (as of March 31, 2011)
-Have the ability to take the course in Japanese
(Speak at a daily conversation level, read and write and communicate with senior citizens)
-Not be able to pay for the course themselves

Cost:
Free
Transportation, food costs, and health examinations are to be paid for by the student.

How to Apply
:
Fill in the required items in the application/declaration form, stamp your inkan, and submit it with a copy of the front and back side of your Alien Registration Card either in person or by mail.
You must fill out the form by pen.

Emergency Assistance Loan
For those who have lost employment or seen a significant decrease in pay (about 10% or more) that has made it impossible to keep up with living expenses.

1,000,000 yen (500,000 for individuals with no dependents)
Loan period 10 years (including first 6 months grace period)
Interest rate 1.5% annual rate (plus an additional guarantee fee)

Requirements* Unemployed Behind on Rent
1) Have lived in the Prefecture for more than one year
2) Over 20 years of age and able to pay back the loan by the age of 76
3) If you had worked for more than a year, that you have exhausted your employment insurance benefits, or have stopped receiving payments in the last 6 months.
4)Must have been employed with the same employer for more than one year
5) When applying for a loan, must have put in an application to the Hello Work Office for help with job hunting and have a desire to work.
6)Are not receiving employment stabilization funds (shushoku antei shikin kashitsuke) from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare
7) Guarantor must be over 20 years of age and making an annual salary of at least 1,500,000 yen.
8) For those who are unable to make rent payments due to work circumstances, savings must be at least 10% short of necessary funds
*Even if you meet these requirements, the application will be reviewed and there may be situations in which the loan can not be granted.
* In the case of foreigners, only those with Permanent Residency Status, Special Permanant Residency Status, or Status of Residency that allow for regular renewals can apply for this loan.
* If the potential gurantor is a foreigner, only those with Permanent Residency Status and Special Permanent Residency Status can qualify to be one.
