Children’s Education
For those who are raising children of the schooling age of 6 to 15 years.
Children grow up on a day-to-day basis. It is important for children anywhere around the world to learn particular things at the appropriate age. If at all your 6 to 15 year
old child is not going to school hence receiving no education, please have them go to school.
It is possible for your child to study at Japanese public schools. For detailed information, please contact your town or city’s board of education. Feel free to consult with the board of education in case you have any concerns with regard to child education.
Some example would be:
- 1. Issues to do with money required at school
- Tuition fees and text book fees in Japanese elementary and junior high schools are free. However school-provided lunch and supplementary learning materials are chargeable. If at all you are not able to afford to pay for such costs, feel free to consult the board of education in regard to sponsorship and available loans.
- 2. Need for a child to stay home and take care of his/her siblings.
- Children can attend day-care centers and kindergartens before they get to elementary school. For detailed information, please consult your nearest city office/hall.
- 3. Are you thinking of having your child go to school even after going back to your home country?
- There are many foreigners who keep thinking of going back to their home countries and still end up staying in Japan for more than 10 years. Among these children, there are some who grow up not having had proper education in Japan. Some end up not being able to do calculations. Others can speak Japanese but find it difficult to speak polite Japanese. Others cannot understand Kanji at all and above that cannot understand their mother tongue well enough to read daily newspapers. We wonder why we got to such a state and realize that it is difficult to even find a job. We can hardly understand the contents of a contract prior to signing one.
It is important for children anywhere around the world to learn particular things at the appropriate age. Please, have you children attend school immediately.
